It is indeed a moment of great pleasure for us to be with you today.
At the outset I would like to introduce  EdCIL (India) Limited,  formerly known as Educational Consultants India Ltd which  is a unique Government of India “Mini Ratna”(A small jewel in Hindi) enterprise Central Public Service Enterprise (CPSE) offers project and consultancy services in all areas of education and human resource development across India and overseas. The company has rendered several end to end educational services over more than three decades with special focus on developing countries of Asia, Middle East and Africa. EdCIL seeks to provide comprehensive solutions through its varied verticals of services.

The company is the only Central Public Sector Enterprises (CPSE) consultancy organization in the education sector providing services on turnkey and modular basis. Technology and Innovation drive EdCIL’s growth. EdCIL also acts as a Govt. of India’s nodal agency for promotion of Indian education overseas and coordinates as a single window agency for admission of International students to institutions in India.

EdCIL  is  a continuously profit making and an ISO 9001-2008 & 14001 : 2004 certified Government of India Enterprise, under the ageis of Ministry of Human Resources Development (MHRD), Government of India. We have so far successfully placed several students from Kenya in select Indian Institutions in the recent years.

Riding on the economic liberation, IT revolution and sustained high growth rate, the education system in India has boomed in recent times with certain unique selling propositions   including education of a wide network of institutions. India presently boasts of a base of 712 universities, 36671 colleges and 11445 autonomous institutions. The private institutions have planned game changing roles in adding to the capacity infrastructure and quality.  This offers enormous choice to the overseas student in   terms of disciplines, degrees, types of institution, cost of education, infrastructure and locations ranging from extreme warm sites to some of the coldest in the world. It has the strength of the largest English speaking population and a medium of instruction of Higher Education in English. Wide spectrum of courses are on offer at affordable costs. Several Fortune 500 Companies routinely recruit large number of employees from Indian Campuses and student quality is rated to be excellent globally. Overseas students thus could be exposed to the same quality of education including peer group and skills sets to before returning to their home country to seek similar global opportunities. India also boasts of some of the best faculty across the education institutions which now welcome foreign students.

Against the above backdrops we are of the firm belief that an exclusive “Study in India” would go a long way in explaining vast choices of quality education which India now offers at competitive prices.  This also would provide a platform offering attractive choices to  Tanzanian  Students for academic value addition and accelerated career progression.

Through holding of this event EdCIL, with the support of High commission of India, Kenya, aims at providing a credible base to leading universities and institutions from India to showcase their strengths in higher education covering various disciplines including. Engineering, Medical, Pharmacy, Nursing, Management, Information Technology, Bio-technology, Media Studies, Agriculture, Hotel Management etc. These universities offer attractive educational courses based on their individual strengths and place their students from India on some of the highly reputed Indian & Overseas Corporates. As brought out the strong industry placement driven education in India can be leveraged by the overseas students to seek similar career opportunities back home.

As further brought out, the improved education eco-system in India has coincided with an IT revolution and massive growth in related services industry. This has further led to an eco-system being created now for several start-ups to grow.

EdCIL during the event and through follow up by the institutions subsequently will guide and mentor the entry of overseas students. he institutions will ensure stay, best  of education and safe return to your country. The education journey is aimed thereafter at giving you sustainable competitive advantage in employment and entrepreneurship. Hence, Tanzanian students may maximise your return on investment in education by studying in some of select institutions in India.

The event is planned as one stop shop for providing information on Indian Education and facilitating admission to Tanzanian nationals as well as Non Resident Indians (NRIs) and Persons of Indian Origin (PIOs) who desire to acquire Higher Education in India. We have introduced the briefing by a star Professor form highly acclaimed IIM/IITs of India. I have no doubt this fair would meet the specific information needs of the   Tanzanian students to full fill the dreams of   getting into reputed Universities/Institutions in India.
